Eastmont Community Splashpad

East Wenatchee, Washington

Through a competitive award process, Land Expressions was selected to design and install Eastmont Community Parks new destination amenity in the heart of East Wenatchee. The airplane ‘Miss Veedol’ is part of the historic identity of this city, leading to the splashpad’s aeronautical theme.

Custom manufactured components, including a replica of Miss Veedol, an air traffic control tower and a windsock with directional signage in the context of a concrete ‘runway’, created a visual presence for the park and playground.  Land Expressions was the general contractor, responsible for installing all the mechanical equipment, flatwork and splash components while meeting the budget, aesthetic goals and schedule of the city for this successful project.

PROJECT DETAILS:

• Successfully integrate the splash pad into existing park
• Aeronautical theme developed by adding custom details to off the shelf products
• Flow-through system – ground infiltration
• Assist with obtaining Department of Health permit
• Unique aspect – utilize the existing restroom structure for equipment/mechanical room
